Date format

I'm getting somewhat confused with all date formats.

In sweden we would write today as 2009-03-11.
UK (EU) style would be 11/3/2009 OR 3/11/2009

ONE format would be good.
Perhaps 11:th mars 2009 (then there are no confusion).

What's your opinion?
