Inspite we do live in the unit of the European family, there is still a great distance between us and other different countries.
Sometimes it is difficult to entise people to travel a long way to ceep their hobby alive, Just like people from our own country.
Anyway, I have created a poster for the event of Swed.Int. 09, and Anders Stenström have done a lot of action
for marketing the event in bouth Italy and for a week ago in Belgium as well as our web creator Mattias Kratz does at our website.
Take a look at our site;  http/www.eksjorc.se   Than you will se where to go!

Hi Christian

You were saying the same thing last year, you said if we wouldn't come to you, you would have to come to us, you asked me about possible British races. I sent you the details, result silence. I am not getting at you, I just suspect you may have checked the cost and time involved in travelling from Sweden to UK and thought "wow" I can't manage that. When I have travelled to Sweden and Norway World Champs the ferry has cost me well over 1000GBP on both occasions, (granted including a caravan).
You coming to the British International in September?

Hi Robert!

The problem for me last year was not that I didn't want to come to You and race.
I simply didnt have a race boat that I could rely on. The cost of the ferry is outragious! I agree!!! If I had a reliable boat at the time - Yes I would have come. The race was all financed, but I actually felt that if I would go racing against all of You guys, I really wanted go give You a run for the money  ;) and me a chance to actually develop as a racer and not just as a "left side of the road" car driver...! I had a bad race year last year. Everything that could go wrong did... But I learned a lot!  :)

I didn't take it as if You were taking a shot at me! If I stick my neck out I have to be ready to take the heat!  ;)
I was not out to point my finger at anyone! I am just so sad that there wasn't more drivers on the entrylist. If I offended anyone, here is my sincere appology.

I was paticulary sad that the British racers didn't come this Year. I live under the firm belief (unlike some other very nice people on this forum (shumi) he he he) that Britan is the HOME of motorsports. Meeting You on the Naviga "M" would have made my Year!

Since my finacial situation is way different than last year, I don't think it is possible for me to go to GB this year, but my hopes are high! I hope I will see You all in a race somewere in Europe (probably Germany) later this year or at the WC next year. But I hope I can pull out an ace from my sleeve and come over to you. My wife and I talk a lot about a vacation in GB. My problem is to make her "endure" a weekend of model boat racing...  ;D

So Robert, no hard feelings?  :)

Sincerely
/Christian

Hi Christian

No problem, get yourself to a big International either in Germany later this year or maybe Holland next year which is one of the best. Competing at a big event like these will open our eyes, getting into a final is an achievment in itself never mind winning. ;)

I must agree with Christian, it's bad that it is so little amount of people that wanna come to our race, swedish drivers almost always attend races in Stuttgart, Hannover, Haarlem, Oudenaarde, Schwedt and even some in Sheffield(not me yet) and probably some others.

The fun thing is that there is no complaint going to races in Germany, Holland,Belgium. Why go with caravan to Sweden when it is so expensive, nowadays there isn't a ferry from England to Sweden anymore so it's to Denmark or thru Germany, we are staying at a lowcost hotel (bring and make your own breakfast) for less then 20€/night, OK it is more miles to Sweden I understand that as I have 1000 km to Hannover(closest race for me in Europe) and 2000km to Oudenaarde/Haarlem.

Hopefully we will have a nice weekend and the people that are coming can spread to word for next time.

When is the British International?

And the reason why i'm not going is simple :
We have a Belgian race the weekend after and its one that counts for the WC . Distance isn't the real issue for me but its just that i can't take any risks with my 15 boat as i want to qualify with it . I have no spare boat so can't take the risks of crashing or trying to fix something during a few days . Time is already very limited for me anyways so .....

Its a pity , i know ,but people do have to realise that this is a year to qualify and we already have lots of races to go too .

Wish you all lots of fun though

PS : i won't be going to Hannover either for the same reason , just the weekend before a national race that counts for the WC .
