I have read without comment the postings on this subject for some weeks and feel it would now be appropriate to give you some real facts.

The GB Multi section AGM was held on Sunday 15th November 2009. 25 members took part of which 19 race in GB and of those 15 compete regularly in Europe, 1 of these is a NAVIGA official, another is vice chairman of the NEC, of the remaining 6 two mechanic in British and European competitions, 1 is a NAVIGA judge, 1 has been GB team leader for a number of years, 1 has been an MPBA member over 30 years and served on the committee for many years, 1 is a member who has travelled with the GB team for at least 3 world championships.

No one present had more than 1 relative at the meeting.

Under our rules the existing committee stands down and new elections take place each year, 1 of last years committee members chose not to stand again for personal reasons.

Each of the newly elected committee members were proposed and seconded by members present at the AGM. Apart from our newest elected committee nominee, an MPBA member for over 30 years, none were proposed or seconded by family members, everyone was either proposed or seconded by a member not serving on the last committee, 3 of the 4 previous committee members were re elected with a majority vote of no less than 24 votes each in a secret paper ballot, no one may vote for him/herself, the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer were also nominated in the same way and re elected with a majority of no less than 22 votes each.

The AGM provided 6 hours for members to discuss various issues which included proposals regarding lap counting; these issues were taken to vote and the section rules will be amended accordingly.

The matter of the eliminators had already been appealed, discussed and resolved according to the rules agreed by all competitors prior to the event; those directly involved have accepted the decision.

Despite advertising of the AGM Mr Harris did not attend, he does not take part in V racing either as a driver or race assistant, in fact he has rarely been a spectator at these events in the last 10 years.

The section will make no further statement on this topic.

Hi Jan.
Thank you for the sections reply but I think you missed out a few relevant points from the agm.

FACTS
Mr Harris is a member of the MPBA and as such is alowed under MPBA rules to ask questions and have them answered.
At the agm he was proposed by aforementioned NAVIGA official as secretary and seconded by the beneficiary in the eliminator fiasco which surely means they agree with HIS views.
This discussion originally started out about FAIRPLAY, HONESTY AND INTEGRITY and seems to be moving away from these subjects.
The simple facts are boat no 8 did more laps than anybody else and has failed to qualify, The chap who qualifed by default refused his place in writing to the committee who refused to accept it. It is not the committees place to refuse to accept his withdrawl, You are elected by the membership to do what the membership want, Not what you want or what you think is best.
