CMB Outboard .21
« on: March 10, 2009, 12:40:54 pm »
Anyone compared the CMB Outboard with O.S?
How does it perform with K&B rig? Is that rig any good?

Hello Thomas

I would not recommend the K&B rig. Firstly the flex shaft has to bend 90 deg. resulting in short flex shat life. Secondly the prop shaft bearings wear rapidly, both the OS and TT prop shafts are far superior, they last for years if properly lubricated.
I hevent tried the CMB outboard engine, but the CMB Cylinder liner Chrome coating is superior compared with the OS Nicasil coating. Nicasil wears out in a shost time especially in cold running outboard engines.
I have installed at least a dozen of CMB motors on TT rigs and they perform fine with a standard muffler or with a pipe.

CMB motors on TT rigs

So the CMB can be fitted to a TT rig? Much work? Complicated?
Can they be fitted to OS rig?
